The Atlantic Wedding Showcase will be at the Cunard Centre (Pier 23) on Jan. 24th … and I found out today that a spot opened up and I’ll be tucked in somewhere among the other halifax wedding photographers. Colby & Caroline – Halifax Wedding Photography

Not exactly “Halifax Wedding Photography” – but I traveled to Chapel Hill, North Carolina to spend an wonderful morning with Colby & Caroline. You might remember Caroline from our bridal session … she and Colby were married in Chapel Hill last fall (and I really wish that I could have been their photographer). They were a little disappointed when they got their wedding photos back as ththey didn’t quite “wow” them. Knowing that I’d be in North Carolina, Caroline called and asked if I’d be up for a newly-wed shoot, a sort of revision to her wedding day photos. I jumped at the chance to photograph this amazing couple all over the beautiful University of North Carolina campus … the sun was shining and the two of them were perfectly happy and completely smitten with each other – it felt like it was their wedding day all over again … thanks guys!

Kate & Dave’s Wedding – Halifax Wedding Photographer

What a FUN wedding … this past fall, I traveled to Kiawah Island, South Carolina to photograph Kate & Dave’s fantastic destination wedding at The Sandcastle resort. You may remember the two from our engagement session this past summer. One of my favorite things about beach weddings is the details – beach-ready hair, bare feet, beautiful bouquets, and a wonderful backdrop of sand, blue skies and ocean. Everything about their wedding day was absolutely perfect and ended with a phenomenal sunset (and trust me, the party didn’t end there). Many thanks to Kate, Dave and their entire family for an amazing weekend and wonderful time in Kiawah.

Shannon & Nick’s Wedding

Shannon & Nick were married on a beautiful fall afternoon in front of their closest friends and family … the church was amazing, the reception was a blast, and I don’t think that I’ve ever seen two people who were more excited to be husband and wife! I knew this would be a great wedding after spending some time with them during our engagement session. I’m quite giddy over the photos that we captured … thanks for the wonderful day!

I knew this would be a fun shoot, but when we came across a knight in shining armor – it set the stage for a phenomenal afternoon. She is an absolute knockout and looked stunning in her bridal gown … and she totally rocked it!

Ryan & Brenda were married on a perfect Saturday surrounded by blue skies, big puffy clouds and their closest family & friends … it was a wonderful wedding in a beautiful setting and I loved being their photographer. I took a lot of fun photos during their celebration, and I was smiling so much that my cheeks were pretty sore after the wedding. Thanks for the great day!

The Old Barn – Trash The Dress

Mike and Jenn (and Shelby) rocked their photos – I loved everything they went for. I especially loved the location which happened to be an old barn that appeared in the movie Days of Thunder. I could’ve spent more than hours here, especially with 2 brides … what an awesome location.

Say hello to Holly … you may remember her from our engagement session a few weeks back. She’s a happy, creative, knock-your-socks-off kind of girl. She wasn’t thrilled with her original wedding photos (and yes, I wish that I could’ve been her photographer) … so she dusted off her dress, grabbed a bouquet from the local grocery store, and we headed out for a fabulous bridal session. I had a feeling Holly could really rock out in her wedding dress … you can be the judge, but all i’m saying is whoa …

Casey & Ben

I traveled to Albermarle, North Carolina for Casey & Ben’s wedding … this couple oozed love for each other & their passion and playfulness was so evident to everyone around them. The setting was the perfect location for their wedding and it offered a great mix of southern comfort and elegance. Casey sure does have one explosive personality and it wasn’t difficult to capture her happiness and excitement … I really loved spending the day with them!

This wedding was unlike any that I’ve seen in Halifax … I was honored to be the photographer at Jordan & Dwight’s wedding which was set perfectly in the backyard of her family home, nestled quietly in the North Carolina countryside. From the beautiful fall colors to the the family love felt all around – every detail made this an unforgettable wedding. This was a North Carolina wedding. I mean it’s not every day that you get to see a groom wrestle a chicken. And I don’t think it’s very common to see a goat make an appearance in the middle of the ceremony – truly unforgettable. The Mabry’s and Honeycutt’s were gracious hosts and welcomed me into their home as if I were a longtime family friend … thank you for a wonderful day.
