A Sunny Easter

We took advantage of the fantastic sunshine this past Easter weekend, spending time with my sister and parents just outside of Halifax (I hope that this isn’t Nova Scotia “trick” weather). I’ve really enjoyed the down time over the past few months. It’s allowed me to catch up with family and get ourselves settled back in the Maritimes, and I’ve been able to practice a few photography tricks before the wedding season starts. But I can’t wait for what’s next …

And one more of the little miss.

Date Night

Dai works offshore for a few weeks at a time and life is very busy with their children, so Dai and Niki always make time for a date night when he is home. Last week on a very spring-like Halifax day, they decided to check out a Halifax hot spot for dinner. I tagged along with them in the early evening and we took advantage of the amazing weather to get some fun shots of just the two of them around the city.

I’m The Man Who Loves You – Wilco Live in Halifax

I really love wedding photography, but I’ll admit, having the opportunity to photograph my favourite band was quite the exhilarating experience. Wilco played a sold out show in Halifax on Wednesday and completely rocked their high-energy, 2+ hour set … if you’re not familiar with the band, I’d highly recommend that you check them out … and if you ever have the chance to experience them live, you’ll see (and hear) just how exceptionally talented they are. I could write more about the show, but I think the photos speak for themselves …

It wasn't a wedding, but there were are lot of happy and emotional moments during a corporate dinner that I photographed at Da Maurizio last week. It was a great event, and lucky for me also happened to be at one of my favourite restaurants in Halifax ... and here's one of my favourites from the celebration.



Favor for a Favor

A friend of mine needed a photo for her magazine. I needed help scouting a few locations for some upcoming shoots. I have to say that of all the photos, this one was one of my favorites. I think the only thing missing was a hot cup of coffee …

We had a lot of  great photos to choose from, but ended up going with this one (which will be used as a profile photo for an editor of the “The Crier” the quarterly magazine of the Junior League of Charlotte).
