Sara & Ben – “She Said Yes” Engagement Session

We had so much fun playing in the sunshine on an unusually mild March day in Halifax. And even when a cold wind kicked up, Sara and Ben had no issues keeping the heat on … they totally rocked and were wonderful to work with (thanks!). Clearly you will see why I cannot wait to have these two in front of my camera in July for their wedding!

This will be a special wedding for me as I’ll be the photographer and best man. Steve and Lindsay’s wedding will be in Halifax this October and I’m thrilled to be part of their celebration in more ways than one. We recently braved the bitter cold for our engagement session, and these two certainly had no problem heating things up for the camera. Here are a few of my favorites …

Brett & Andrew Engaged

When Brett first contacted me about photographing her wedding, we immediately clicked. I love it when connections come easy and naturally … and there is nothing forced about Brett & Andrew – they’re a wonderful couple who are planning an early summer wedding in Halifax. They wanted the location of their engagement session to fit them perfectly and I think it exceeded our wishes in every way … I can’t wait spend the day with these two again – their wedding will be quite the celebration as Brett will also be graduating from Med School this spring … I’m honoured to be their photographer and looking forward to their wedding day. Engagement photography sessions are a great idea for any couple. Not only will you get fantastic images, but it helps to build a familiarity with your photographer, with me – both personally and professionally. An engagement session typically will make your wedding day photographs much more relaxed and comfortable. I like to customize engagement sessions to the couple’s personality, and they can take place anywhere and everywhere. In case you haven’t noticed – I really love them.

Pauline & Yves Engaged – Halifax Wedding Photographer

What a way to start off the new year in Halifax … Pauline and Ives will be married this summer at the beautiful Oak Island Resort in Western Shore, Nova Scotia, and after spending the morning with them, there’s no doubt in my mind that it will be a really fun wedding (and I’m so thrilled to be their photographer). We had to split our engagement session into two parts after Halifax decided to give us a blast of freezing rain, and I’m glad we did the split … the second session rocked. I really loved the shoot and since Pauline and Ives are both Paramedics, I thought it was pretty funny that we ended things with an Ambulance. Thanks for the fun day .. you guys are awesome and I’m really looking forward to your wedding day!

Country Love

Jordan and Dwight are a cute couple from Norwood, NC. If you’re not sure where that is, neither did I until yesterday. It was a charming little town an hour outside of Charlotte. I’ll be traveling to their wedding in October and if today’s shoot was any indication, we’re going to have great time. I especially enjoyed meeting Jordan’s family – including the ducks, goats, dogs, chickens and horse (all of whom made several cameos during our session) … I quickly realized that I landed in what I felt was the heart of the Carolinas – certainly unlike anything that I’ve seen in Halifax. I’m so happy to be their wedding photographer … and as shy as the two were, they still rocked their engagement shoot!I just hope that I don’t get lost trying to find them again.

Holly & Neil Re-Do Engagement

Holly & Neil were married a year ago and were never happy with their original engagement photos … so I was the lucky one they called for a “re-do” engagement shoot. Lucky is an understatement as they were great to work with and I had an awesome time watching (and photographing) the two of them interact, be in love and just having fun. Though we laughed a lot, they managed to sneak in some quiet moments, ones that expressed affection and, of course, love! I really loved working with them, and they loved their photos … in fact they loved things so much that Holly is dusting off her wedding dress for a bridal session! I can’t wait … I really wish that I had the chance to photograph their wedding. They were a LOT of fun to work with…

Casey & Ben Engaged!

I made the trip to Albermarle, North Carolina to meet with Casey & Ben. They’ll be getting married in August and took time out from their busy weekend to show me around town. And of course along the way, we decided to brave the Carolina heat and humidity for an quick engagement session. Casey was all smiles which made for an easy shoot and I quickly realized that their wedding was going to be a blast – and I can’t wait to capture it!

Kate & Dave Engaged!

Kate and I became good friends while training for a marathon together so I was thrilled when she asked me to be the photographer at their upconing ”beach” wedding in Kiawah Island, SC. Their engagement session reminded me why I love photographing people in love. Capturing their personalities was a breeze as they really rocked this session, even though Kate was a tad bit camera shy …
