After some well-deserved pampering, this mother of two chose a dark basement for a boudoir experience that was far from traditional …

A few weeks ago, Give to Live hosted a fun, sexy lingerie fashion show that ended with a silent auction with all proceeds going towards the fight on cancer. Keeping with the spirit of the event, I donated a studio boudoir session and recently had the chance to work with the auction winner. She was looking for something dark and sexy for her husband to be, and after a little pre-shoot pampering (including hair and makeup by the wonderful Alicia Melanson), stopped by the studio for a very fun shoot. I’m so happy to have been able to contribute to the success of the evening, and a big thanks to the auction winner (who shall remain nameless) for letting me share a few images …

These pictures are absolutely riviting!! I love your work!!
Post by Jenn – I was completely thrilled to shoot Titz’n Glitz this year! I had the most amazing night, and was honored to be a part of it. It’s a one of a kind breast cancer fundraiser, raising money to help alleviate the financial stress for those fighting this disease. The women who spoke at the event were inspirational and helped me see what a difference Titz’n Glitz really makes. The decor, done by the talented Avril Mulholland of Update Events, was simply incredible … pink lamps, pink lighting, pink everywhere! It truly suited the event (and also happens to be one of my favorite colours). One of the highlights of the event was definitely the Ariel Champagne Artists from Atlantic Cirque. After performing acrobatic acts, girls from Atlantic Cirque were suspended from the ceiling, serving champagne. I’ve never seen anything like it and it was awesome to capture. Other highlights included the wonderfully creative retro dance themed costumes, a live silk screen artist (who, during the event, created an amazing painting featuring guests), the “press a breast” canvas art auction, and an amazing energy that could be felt at every corner of the room throughout the night. It was contagious! Seeing as this was a women only event, Jeff had to put down the camera and stay home for the night, even though he wanted to shoot it just as much as I did. Maybe we’ll see him there next year sporting a girly wig? A big congratulations to everyone who helped put this event together, it was certainly a night to remember!

AMAZING SHOTS … I was at the event, and you captured the feel perfectly!!!!
proud aunt here!! Love the work and the cause!
My wife and I always joke about how there are so many options in Halifax for dinner & drinks, yet we always end up on Argyle Street (usually at the Economy Shoe Shop) where we know we are guarenteed great atmosphere, good beer and a fun night out. Jenn and I recently tagged along with Mindy and Colin for their engagement date night. We met at the studio and, without having any real plan, strolled around Halifax and, of course, ended up on Argyle Street. So I guess you could say it was the closest I’ve come to a date night in a long time! (sorry Sus, I promise wedding season is almost over and we’ll be having a lot of date nights to make up for it!). We had a great time with this fun-loving couple … Mindy has a great laugh, contagious smile and Colin is really easy-going, so hanging out with them was really the next best thing to a real date night. See you on Labor Day week-end (2011) for the big day!

Dude, this are sick. The night shots are unreal. Some of your best stuff, by far. Well done. We still need to get together sometime. Let’s make it happen. I’m pretty free most of the time these days.
Awesome!!! I love the colours, and the depth and Mindy’s super cute smile! Also love the incorporation of the beer
Stunningly fun pics! My bro and future sister-n-law are models!:)LOVE YOU!
Oh they look fantastic guys! My fav is the one on where you’re sitting on the bench, looks like Colin just said something saucy!!! Can’t wait for the wedding!!!!!
Looking awesome Mac and Colin!!! Great shots Jeff!
Absolutely beautiful pics of absolutely beautiful people! Love them.
LOVE!!!!
Thanks for a great evening, we had a blast!
I took my daughter to a different park the other day and rather than sprinting off as she normally would, she stood there, frozen in her tracks with a giant smile stretching ear to ear. After a minute or two, she just took off running. I think that the look she gave me said it all – her busy mind simply didn’t know where to start. So what does this have to do with an engagement shoot? When Jenn and I met up with Vince and Jessica at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography (BIO), the exact same thing happened to me. I just stood there looking at this amazing setting and I was seriously overwhelmed. From the old junkyard to an incredible evening sky over Halifax, I simply needed a second to take it all in before shooting a single frame. And of course once I started, it was near impossible for me to stop. In fact if it wasn’t for my batteries dying, I’m pretty sure that Jenn would have had to wrestle the camera out of my hands. What made this location absolutely perfect was that Vince and Jessica met on the CCGS Hudson which happened to be docked the day of our shoot. A big thank you to the BIO and CCGS Hudson crew that allowed us access to the place where it all began for Vince and Jess.

Craig & Tanya have one of those easy kind of loves that just draws you in. They were committed to making their wedding day one that friends and family would never forget, and I’m so happy to have had a front row seat to the celebration. Their wedding, held at the beautiful Saraguay House in Halifax, ended with a party that completely rocked, much in part to the insanely awesome Asia & NuGruv who kept everyone on their feet the entire night. Here are just a few of my favorite captures from the day …

Your work is so amazing i can see why Selena wanted you. Back in my day not to many did this and when she told me she got you (and the price) i was shocked but after meeting you and seeing what you do and how wonderful amazing beautiful your work is i can see why . I hope all your dreams for you and your family comes out as beautiful as your work. All the best Glenda Bonang
Jennifer & Hans aren’t afraid of a little rain. The forecasters promised heavy rain but Jennifer went ahead and got her hair and make-up done up in style by the awesome Alicia Melanson. After she pampered herself a little, they grabbed an umbrella and Jenn and I followed this “up-for-anything” couple along the puddle-lined streets of Halifax (and one very cool garage). I always find it amusing when a client tells me that they’re “shy in front of the camera”, but end up rocking their shoot and being so great to work with. We had fun getting to know each other and will definitely have a fantastic day next summer when Jenn and I capture their “I dos”…rain or shine!

Unbelievable. These images are breathtaking, striking and full of life. Just wanted to say that you’re work is great!
This wedding was a great and wonderful celebration of all things Sarah & Dustin. It was held at the fabulous Glen Arbour Golf Course just outside of Halifax, and everything about the weekend was relaxed, intimate and fun. I think that I’m still riding a sugar high from their wedding. Much like Sarah and Dustin, I have a pretty big sweet tooth (ask my dentist) and throughout the day no matter where I turned, their well stocked candy bar always seemed to get in my way … I was literally a kid in a candy store for most of the reception. Patricia Pardy of It’s Your Event made sure everything went off without a hitch while Susan and the staff from Simple Touch added lots of unique details and personal touches to the day. Jenn and I had a fantastic time – thanks to everyone for making our day so sweet!

You’re masterful with the flash, Jeff. Good work again, buddy.
Ever wonder what to do with that wedding dress? Well, here’s an option – have a fun and sexy rock the dress / trash the dress bridal session. Recently married, Ceilidh was excited for a few “untraditional” bridal portraits in a very Maritime setting … which in this case happened to be near her family home in Chester, Nova Scotia. The misty, overcast day gave us a very cool atmosphere, and with her mom and best friend cheering her on, Ceilidh totally rocked it. Thanks for the fun afternoon (and the delicious blueberry cheesecake cupcake)!

How can anyone express the beauty of Ceilidh, not only in looks but personality. She makes me so proud to say she is my granddaughter. We hope her life will be blessed with lots of love, friends and family.Beautiful pictures .
WOW!!! This makes me want to throw my dress back on for some photos. GORGEOUS!!!
After a recent wedding, I met up with Liam Hennessy to unwind and chat about the day, which basically meant very little conversation and a whole lot of scrolling through images on the backs of our cameras. Liam just finished photographing Adam and Sarah’s wedding and mentioned that he has a trash the dress session booked with them the next day. They were excited about the idea of a collaborative shoot with the two of us, so another Cooked Apples project was born. Adam + Sarah were total rockstars, from splashing in the waves to rolling around in a bed of seaweed, they had a blast … I always love an “up for anything” attitude. By the way, there wasn’t a drop of the champagne left … how much of it actually ended up in their glasses, I don’t know.
