Blue Ridge Relay 2009

I ran 4 marathons last year and have to say that this was one of the toughest races that I’ve ever completed … and it was also one of the best experiences that I’ve ever had. 211 miles, 12 runners, 26 hours through the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia and North Carolina – each runner averaging 18 miles over the course of the entire race … AND, we finished 11th out or 106 teams! Of course, I had my camera and captured our team’s entire race experience. A big, big thanks to Tim and all the staff at Run For Your Life for sponsoring our team! Here’s a few of the highlights …

This next photo was taken while I was running up one of the hardest climbs that I’ve ever done – 3 miles completely uphill. This is a shot of me reaching the peak of the mountain climb …

A small corner store somewhere in the mountains of North Carolina … can you spot the lone Canadian?

And this is Kevin – our coach, organizer, and one of my best friends. I think this pretty much sums up our team’s performance …
